Garrett's story, (written by his mom, Heidi)
Garrett was diagnosed at the age of One with Cavernous Malformations in his brain stem. Over the years it has caused many health issues and to many surgeries for me to count. He has managed to stay positive and keep pushing though it all. In 2015, Garrett was the Sparrow Children's Miracle child and that would end up being the same year that he had the worst of his condition to effect him. After 7 months in the hospital and now vent and trach dependent. He is left with not being able to walk or have much movement from the damage done with the many strokes and surgeries.
Garrett still is a fun happy teenager for the most part. He loves to play video games and watch YouTube even if with partial use of one hand. Garrett is a smart kid and has a smile that can make you want to smile as well. It has not been an easy road for Garrett. He has pretty much spends his days with mom (Heidi) or alone. Most friends don't come around after he came home in 2016. Yet he stays strong and lives each day making the most of it. He is my Brave Warrior.
